Race 2, Unfriendly Jamaica
As there were only one division of ten racers, the race was meant to
be tough but fun! That exactly what we saw, there has been everything...
close battles, crazy overtakes in the chicanes, lapped racers who couldn’t
get used to the fact that they are being laped... Let’s take a closer look
at the action.
RRT.smith using advantage of 4WD made breakthrough start from
4th position and took the lead even before the chicane.
RRT.Koffy has been having mad fight for the second position with ocr|RudiTurbo
and as the result, he smashes into the tyres.Unfortunately he flips and
whole grid goes past. Luckily he recovers fast and begins passing one
racer after another.
ocr|RudiTurbo overtakes RRT.smith at the straight already on first lap
of the race. In the same time RRT.Koffy passes [dSRC]hackerx. He is
now 8th. On lap 3 RRT.Koffy makes yet another attack and passes RRT.VOLK.
On lap 4 RRT.Konyshev who was smoothly runing 4th makes horrible mistake
and goes of the track. He recovers at 7th, while RRT.Koffy, aero|fanatic and
[dSRC]nazzard passes him by. A few seconds later RRT.Koffy overtakes aero|fanatic and
[dSRC]nazzard, what makes him 5th.
On lap 6 there was one huge accident, aero|fanatic goes too wide in the
chicane, warmly meeting the tyres. RRT.Konyshev who was runing right after him
hits the brakes and in that moment RRT.VOLK smashes in the back of RRT.Konyshev’s
car. An impact was so strong that RRT.VOLK’s car bounced from barier to
barier like a ping-pong ball. Then [dSRC]hackerx hits RRT.VOLK’s car which
was at the moment already skidding on it’s roof down the track. Luckily
for [dSRC]hackerx he recovered quite fast. RRT.VOLK is 9th now.
Lap7. [dSRC]nazzard makes error in fast turn so that gave the possibilitie
to RRT.Konyshev to overtake him, what he did w/o problem.
RRT.VOLK takes back his 8th position from [dSRC]hackerx on lap 8.
First lapped racer on lap 10. Looks like ANT brakes a bit early in order
to let ocr|RudiTurbo trough and ocr|RudiTurbo softly touches the ANT’s
RB4. A bit later more racers lapping ANT, luckily this time no contacts.
After aproximatelly 6 laps of close chasing RRT.Koffy attacks RRT.smith
in fast turn and becomes second. But a moment later he makes an error
and RRT.smith takes his second position back.
Lap 13. RRT.Konyshev goes off the track again and [dSRC]nazzard past
him by and became 5th.
On lap 15 RRT.smith experienced a hard lag. he goes far away of the track
an recovers only 4th.
The situation on the track didn’t change until finish. There have
been some fights and attacks but no one succeded.

RRT.Koffy:
After a brilliant qualification I thought race start is going to be very
easy, except of a little threat from RRT.smith(RB4).
But that wasnt too easy at all, and after mistake in T1 I became last.
And I had nothing better to do except pushing hard. By 9th lap I passed
error-making ones and came close to Palich-smith group,
which was passed by 15th lap (unknown lag trouble during smith&
rsquo; passing
wasnt very enjoyable). I finished 2nd.

n First of all I’d like to mention that the Fern Bay Green is very hard
track for GT Turbo drivers. In fact it’s most difficult round for me in
whole season.
For me it was clear from the begining that I can not compete with FXO’s
of ocr|RudiTurbo and RRT.Koffy. So my target in the race was 3sd position
at the finish, and I managed to get that.
Also I’m pretty happy about the fact that two rounds with GT Turbo (most
difficult car to me) already in the past.
OK, now about the race it self. Start was quite good for me, I planned
to race not in rush but very stable. I think it was the best option for
me as i’ve got not much experience racing GT Turbo at Fern Bay Green and
all my tries to do fast laps at the free practice didn’t succeded to be
honest.
On lap 9 RRT.Koffy past me by and I’ve seen how long RRT.smith was keeping
him behind but then he goes off the track and after that the results of
the race were pretty clear.
Then I just drove to the finish line as accurate as I could. On lap 15
I’ve messed up my engine due to my mistake in gear changing.
n I’m quite happy that my tactic of "stable and no rush driving"
helped me to leave behind several drivers that have been doing faster
laps time to time but were unstable in general.
RRT.smith:
Race started very good, RB4 took its advantage and I made lead from 4th
position.
RudiTurbo passed me on the beginning of 2nd lap. Situation wasnt changing
for 8 laps as I kept safe pace from Palich for while Koffy fought his
way back to lead pack.
When Koffy approached me we had close battle for a few laps, though I was
holding him, surely. Everything was going smooth until lag knocked
me on sand in 2nd turn. Luckily I wasnt stuck and finished 4th.
RRT.Konyshev:
Well... race wasn’t so good as I expected after unbelievable 3rd place
in qualification. My start was bad and RRT.smith and aero|Palich passed
me.
I was quite careful in the chicane and at this moment I saw Koffy’s crash,
but it didnt affect me. At 3rd lap I’ve made a mistake and [dSRC]hazzad,
aero|fanatic and RRT.Koffy passed me.
At 6th lap aero|fanatic made a mistake which allowed me to pass him. The
car was really great during all racetime, and on 7th lap [dSRC]nazzard
entered too wide in turn after the wall and I passed him.
But at 13rd lap I saw car of atomant and prepared to pass him to make
him lapped, but he braked too early. It was unexpected for me and I hitted
him and got out the track.
During this accident [dSRC]hazzard passed me. And all remaining time I
was trying to get him. But he was very stable and I wasn’t able too pass
him. So... 6rd place isn’t so bad on new track for me.
RRT.VOLK:
OK, the whole race was real fun for me. Nice close battle with aero|fanatic
during several laps. Then i’ve messed up my engine due to mistake in last
chikane and touching the wall there. After that it was even more difficult
to overtake aero|fanatic. After crashing into RRT.Konyshev i lost some
positions... and it’s really strange that RRT.Konyshev doesn’t remember
the crash at all. Probably it was the same evil lag that took RRT.smith
out. Oh well, anyway it was very intersting race,
full of close chasing
and battles. I hope to perform a bit better in the next round.
